Ryan was born in the small town of Jasper, Alabama, raised in the city of Austin, Texas, and then grew up in a suburb outside of Atlanta, Georgia. As a college student-athlete (basketball), he received his B.A. degree at Kennesaw State University, Kennesaw, Georgia, in 2009. During his college years, Ryan volunteered and interned for several students ministries in the Atlanta area. In 2007, Ryan became a full-time Campus Representative for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. During his stint with FCA, he ministered to hundreds of coaches and thousands of student athletes.
After working with FCA, Ryan was called to be a student pastor. In 2009, Ryan became the Assistant Student Pastor at Mandarin United Methodist Church in Jacksonville, Florida. The 1,300 member congregation eagerly embraced him as he started his new job. Ryan partnered with FCA in Jacksonville speaking at middle and high school campuses across northeast Florida. He also worked alongside Project S.O.S., helping them get the right message out to students in the Jacksonville area. Ryan loves speaking to students and young adults about the love of Jesus Christ.
After spending time in Jacksonville, Ryan moved back to the Atlanta Area. He accepted a student pastor position at Bremen UMC. He has thoroughly enjoyed spending time engulfing the students with Jesus. He is still involved with FCA and still loves to travel and speak.
Ryan also loves to write. He is currently working on two books that will hopefully be published by the end of the year. He enjoys writing and performing spoken word pieces about what God has done in his life and through the lives of others around him.
Ryan is married to his lovely bride, Ashleigh Rohan. He proposed on August 21st, 2009, and they are got married on July 2nd, 2010 in Marietta, Georgia. Ashleigh is a middle school teacher who loves making a positive impact in the public school system. Ashleigh has a loving relationship with Jesus Christ that is contagious to everyone who is around her. Ryan is extremely excited to begin a life with the most wonderful woman on this earth.
A note from Ryan: “I am so excited to be a part of the ministry in Bremen. God is doing some crazy things here, and the students are really jumping on board with the idea of serving Christ on such a deeper level. I am encouraged every day in the things God is doing in and through me. God is huge, and I feel so blessed that he wants to use me to help accomplish His master plan.”
